The Winter Education Complex is home to numerous offices and departments including the health and physical education and social work departments and School of Nursing. The health and physical education department is highly involved in the community, coordinating swimming and gymnastics lessons taught by WWU students. Fitness facilities include a fitness center, gymnastics gym with rock climbing wall, racquetball, tennis, and beach volleyball courts, and fields for soccer, softball, and football. A pool, remodeled in 2013, is also available as well as a main gym for varsity, club, and intramural sports. In 2011, a major remodel of the second floor of the WEC was completed to provide facilities and classroom space for the School of Social Work and updated facilities for the School of Nursing. The School of Social Work offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The School of Nursing provides courses for lowerclassmen nursing students before they complete their final two years at our Portland, Ore., campus.
